Unlike the Ten Commandments, film festival brochures are not written in stone. Alterations and additions to the programme of appearances and events are only to be expected.
This year’s Bradford International Film Festival is no different.
Festival co-director Tom Vincent said: “There will be a special screening of Elvis: That’s The Way It Is, on Saturday April 20.
The screenings will be introduced by BBC film critic Mark Kermode and The Dodge Brothers, who have just returned from recording their new album at Sun Studio in Memphis, where Elvis, Carl Perkins, Howlin’ Wolf and other rock n’ roll luminaries cut their teeth.
“Also added to the programme is The Dresser, a Bradford classic that was filmed at the Alhambra Theatre. Our special guest Sir Tom Courtenay stars as the devoted assistant to a famously high-maintenance actor, played by Albert Finney.
“Rock fans, and fans of bad behaviour will also be pleased to hear that we have a fantastic new documentary about Ginger Baker, the notoriously bad-tempered, but brilliant drummer with Cream.
“Meanwhile we’ve just confirmed a roster of guests – from Slovenia, The Netherlands, Tunisia, Poland and, of course, Hull."
