Bradford Council hopes to set up a ‘talent management programme’ to try to get more people from ethnic minorities into its senior management roles.
Currently, all the Council’s top executives are white. As the Telegraph & Argus reported last month, Respect councillors called for the Council’s management team to be more representative of the community it serves.
Now the Council is setting up a programme to try to get more staff from ethnic minorities into senior roles. It will also gather data on the religion, sexual orientation, marital status and gender reassignment of its staff to see whether minority groups are being fairly reflected. The approach is set to be approved at a meeting of the Council’s Executive on Tuesday.
