A charity raffle is being staged as part of activities to mark the 30th anniversary of a Keighley firefighter’s tragic death.
A series of events are taking place in commemoration of Jeff Naylor, who suffered extensive burns when he and fellow crew members battled to rescue five children from a burning Ingrow home. He died in hospital ten weeks later.
The raffle is raising money for The Fire Fighters Charity and the burns unit at Pinderfields Hospital, Wakefield, where Jeff was treated. Prizes include a signed Keighley Cougars shirt, a fortnight’s stay in a Yorkshire Dales bunkhouse and a barbecue. Tickets are available, priced £1, from Keighley fire station in Bradford Road.
The draw will be made during an event at the station on Saturday, April 27, which will include a remembrance service and the naming of a fire appliance after Jeff.
