A £25,000 reward is being offered to help catch crooks who used a circular saw to slice their way into an ATM machine inside a Bradford shop.
And police have now released a CCTV image of a suspect in a bid to trace those responsible for an attack on the cash machine inside the Freshco store in Oak Lane, Manningham.
In the early hours of Friday, March 1, two men broke into the shop and used a handheld Stihl electric saw to cut their way to the money in the machine.
They fled with what a police spokesman described as “a significant amount of money.”
One of the men is described as Asian and with a shaven or bald head and it is not clear if they used a vehicle parked nearby.
As part of a nationwide drive to help combat cash machine crime, Link, the UK’s cash machine network, is offering a reward of up to £25,000 for information related to the raid on the Manningham store.
It is urging people to call Crimestoppers on 0800 555111 with any information relating to the attack.
Graham Mott, a senior spokesman, said: “We’re urging the public to come forward with any information that they may have.
“Even something that may sound insignificant could be part of a bigger picture and prove invaluable in convicting someone involved in cash machine crime.”
Mr Mott said that information could be given anonymously and asked any witnesses to the incident, or anyone with information to call Detective Constable Stephen Hepworth on the non-emergency number 101 or contact Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555111.
