A talented amateur footballer from Bradford has won a nationwide competition to sign a professional contract with League One Swindon Town.
Kayden Jackson, 19, from Argent Way, Tong Street, beat more than 5,500 entrants to win Samsung’s Win A Pro Contract competition.
The striker, who plays for Albion Sports FC in the Baris Northern Counties East League Division One, made it through a series of regional trials before lining up against a Leyton Orient XI at the Matchroom Stadium in January.
He was one of three players selected to spend a week training at Swindon and the other club in the competition, Leyton Orient.
Kayden said: “When I found out I’d won, the feeling was indescribable. It was a mixture of shock and joy. The quality of players in the competition was very good, but I concentrated on my own game at every stage.”
Kayden will be unveiled at half-time during Town’s League One home game with Crewe Alexandra on Tuesday, April 16. He will join the club on a 12-month contract from July.
