Plans for an illuminated sign above the front door of a Grade II-listed former pub, along with two high-level banners on the side, have been refused.
The planning application, put forward by Mr Zeeshan Haider, related to the New House At Home, at 639 Little Horton Lane, Bradford.
A planning officer’s report said the signage had already been installed and it could be seen that it adversely affected the character of the host property due to extending over the doorframe and window sills and due to the illuminated nature of the sign and the projection from the front elevation of the listed building.
“There is no justification for the banner signs to the gable elevation and they do not maintain or enhance the special interest of the building. Banner signs high on the prominent gable detract from the character of the building and street scene.”
