Bradford councillors have agreed to a reduction in the number of homes to be built on fields off Thornhill Road in Steeton.
The Council’s regulatory and appeals committee agreed that developers Redrow Homes could build 209 houses instead of 220.
The decrease was caused by Redrow substituting its plans for one of the plots containing 32 houses.
Planning officers had recommended approval, saying that the proposal’s effects on neighbouring houses, the village and biodiversity were acceptable.
The new application was approved subject to Redrow meeting a series of legal obligations to improve local community facilities.
These included providing on-site recreation equipment, £30,000 towards new play facilities in the area, and £364,901 towards improving local education infrastructure.
