Firefighters had to put out grass fires in a Keighley street four times at the weekend. Fire crews believe the blazes, on Friday, Saturday and yesterday, were deliberately started and took hold because of the dry weather.
Keighley crew commander Darren Creighton said: “You get a dry spell, you get kids on holiday, it creates havoc.”
They were called out to a grass fire at Becks Road on Friday lunchtime, then again on Saturday lunchtime and at 3.46pm and yesterday another grass fire 100 yards up the road was dealt with.
