Ways to continue using the success of last year’s London Olympics to inspire people improve their health through sport or other activities will be discussed at a seminar being held in Bradford next week.
Keynote talks will be given by West Yorkshire Sport representatives about the opportunities available to community organisations and individuals to develop sports or health projects.
Clive Whittaker, of Bradford CVS, one of the partners in the scheme, said: “This event is for individuals or community organisations who are running or considering running a sports and/or health project.
“We are running free afternoon and evening sessions that focus on the setting up and running of a project, attracting funding and the challenges you might face.
“There is also an introduction to the most recent changes in public health commissioning. We are expecting a high turnout so it is essential you book.”
For more information, or to book a place at the seminar which takes place at Manningham Mills Sports and Community Association in Scotchman Road on Thursday, April 18, contact Mr Whittaker at Bradford CVS on (01274) 722772 or by e-mail at clive@bradfordcvs. org.uk.
Sessions take place from 12.30pm to 4pm and from 4pm to 7pm.
