Voters will go to the polls on Thursday, May 2, to elect representatives to North Yorkshire County Council.
In South Craven division, sitting Independent councillor Philip Melvin Barrett will defend his seat.
He will be up against Roger Harry Baxandall, for UKIP, and Labour’s Bridie Reeves.
In Airedale, Coun Patrick Thomas Mulligan is seeking to retain his seat for the Tories. He will face Graeme John Hitchen, for Labour, and Lib Dem Mark Andrew Wheeler.
All 72 seats are up for re-election. At present, the Conservatives are the controlling group, with 46 councillors.
Householders are being urged to ensure they are registered to vote by phoning (01756) 700600 or visiting cravendc.gov.uk. The deadline for registration is 5pm on Wednesday, April 17.
Bradford Council elects a third of its 90 councillors every three years, which means no election is held this year.
