Three Rangers from Ilkley have received gold Duke of Edinburgh awards at St James’s Palace.
Rebecca Palframan, Natasha Verspyck and Ellie Taylor worked for their Duke of Edinburgh awards with Rombald’s Ranger Guide Unit, with Rebecca completing her gold award at Bradford Grammar School. They travelled to London to receive their certificates from Prince Philip.
The gold award programme includes five sections and their diverse activities included helping at meetings of Guides, Brownies and Rainbows, training to help with sports leadership and, in Rebecca’s case, helping at a school in Costa Rica.
Ellie and Natasha also took part in a Challenger sailing ship expedition from Hartlepool to Portsmouth
