Door-to-door collections of household recycling are set to be doubled across the district.
Bradford Council is to increase the collection frequency from monthly to fortnightly and plastic bottles are being added to the list of recyclable items.
The new service, paid for by a Government grant, will be piloted in Bingley and Baildon, but will be rolled-out district-wide from September.
Collection days will remain the same and people will still have their weekly standard bin collections.
Councillor Andrew Thornton, executive member for environment and sustainability, said: “This is marvellous news for the environment and for the council tax payer. It shows the strong commitment we have to increase recycling rates for the district.”
