Entries for this year’s Oxenhope Straw Race are now open. The event on July 7 will see dozens of runner carrying a bale of straw through the village for two-and-a-half miles. One of Yorkshire’s most quirky traditions, the runners also have to stop in five pubs, having a pint in each. Many run the race in fancy dress. To enter, visit strawrace.com
