The Boys’ Brigade is setting up new groups across Bradford after receiving Government funding.
The Communities and Local Government Department has given £10 million to Youth United, an umbrella body overseeing uniformed youth organisations such as the Boys’ Brigade, the Scouts, the Girls’ Brigade, Girl Guides and St John’s Ambulance.
The Boys’ Brigade has appointed a development worker to help create groups for young people and recruit volunteer leaders in Bradford.
Over the next year, new groups will be set up around the city, working with churches, schools and community groups.
There are already a handful of groups which meet in various locations across the city, including at Bradford Cathedral, Sunbridge Road, Sutton in Craven, Thackley, East Bowling and Farsley.
