Student teacher Rizwana Bibi is taking the plunge for a second time to help refugees in Syria The 19-year-old, of Manningham, has already raised more than £150 by braving a bungee jump earlier this month – her latest venture is a skydive from 13,000ft.
Miss Bibi, who is on teaching practice at Whetley Academy this term, says the only training she has done for her big leap of faith is watching film recordings of other people’s jump.
“I’m freaking myself out basicially.
“I don't like heights but I did the bungee jump backwards and people have told me if I can do that then I can do the skydive easily – apparently you don't feel the fall as much!"
The skydive takes place at an airfield near Peterborough. Nine others are joining her and together they are hoping to make £9,000 for the Bradford-based aid agency Human Relief Foundation (HRF) appeal to help Syria.
