A new Keighley town mayor and deputy mayor have been selected for 2013/14.
Councillor Sally Walker, currently the town’s deputy mayor, was nominated for the mayoral post, while Councillor Lionel Lockley was put forward to be the next deputy.
Their nominations were announced at the town council’s latest full monthly meeting. No voting was needed, as the current Keighley mayor, Councillor George Metcalf, said no one else had been nominated for either of the two posts.
Coun Walker and Coun Lockley will be officially confirmed as mayor and deputy mayor at the next full meeting on May 2.
