Next Friday an unusual double concert takes place at Bradford’s Latvian Club.

Two very different West Yorkshire bands, the 309s and Waiting For Wednesday, will be releasing new records on the same night.

The 309s’ Halfway to Heaven is a CD of new material. Waiting For Wednesday’s record is an EP of the same name. Both discs will be available on the night at the Clifton Villas venue.

The 309s consist of five musicians who have spent five years rocking and rolling their western swing/country/rockabilly repertoire at events all over the country.

Concert publicist Romy Needham said: “Think Hank Williams, Bob Wills and early Johnny Cash joining forces to make a classic 20th century sound that is the roots of rock and roll. Crowds have danced the days and nights away to the 309s’ beat at a huge range of festivals and gigs.”

Waiting For Wednesday comprise the voices and self-penned lyrics of Laura Shackleton and Anna Watkins, of Bradford and Shipley.

The double launch on Friday, April 12, starts at 8pm. Tickets are £3.
