A proposed zebra crossing to help the elderly get to the shops in Wibsey will be discussed at Bradford Council’s South Area Committee on Thursday.
Nearly 200 people signed a petition requesting a crossing near the Odsal Road and Holroyd Hill junction, close to the Quarry Dene retirement complex.
Most of the petitioners were residents at the complex who wanted to get safely across the busy road to the shops.
Ward councillor Lynne Smith, said: “We have been pressing for this crossing for some time and we are delighted it is finally getting closer to happening.
“This will improve independence for anyone with mobility difficulties as I know from personal experience.”
No objections have been received to the proposal so far.
