Disruptions are expected at Ilkley Library as internal repairs take place from Monday.

It will include repairs to crumbling plasterwork and windows, and new carpets.

The library will remain open during the redecoration, which is expected to last eight weeks, but at times there will be no access to the main entrance, the central section of the ground floor reference area, or the left side of the ground floor.

Councillor Susan Hinchcliffe, Bradford Council’s executive member responsible for culture, said: “In the short-term, it is a real inconvenience for library users but in the longer term, it will result in a much smarter and welcoming library building.”
