A man was in hospital last night with a serious head injury after he was in collision with a car in Bradford.
The incident happened on Manningham Lane, near its junction with Keighley Road, at about 7.45pm.
An ambulance spokesman said: “A male was knocked down by a single vehicle. He suffered a serious head injury and was taken to Bradford Royal Infirmary.”
At the scene, police examined a Ford Focus believed to have been involved in the collision, while one of the victim’s shoes lay nearby in the road.
A police spokesman said: “A man has been hit by a car. He was still alive when they put him in the ambulance but he was in a bad way.”
Manningham Lane was closed in both directions between St Paul’s Road and Oak Lane. It was also closed one way between St Paul’s Road and Marlborough Road.
Shocked locals said they hadn’t seen anything, but added that they knew someone had been in a nasty collision with a car.
