Royal Mail staff from across the UK came together yesterday to take on a charity challenge in Bradford.
Sixteen workers gathered at Eccleshill United Reformed Church in Victoria Road, Eccleshill, to redecorate the church hall. The hall is at the heart of the community and is used by a number of local groups for a wide range of activities.
One of these is a fortnightly Wellbeing Cafe run by the Alzheimer’s Society, which supports between 30 and 50 people with dementia and their families.
Royal Mail approached the society offering to help and the society in turn approached the church to see if they would like the room redecorated for free.
All equipment, paint and scaffolding was provided and although the work was carried out on behalf of the the society it will benefit all members of the community who use the space.
