A double decker bus carrying children home from school was evacuated after colliding with a van this afternoon.
Police were called to the crash, on the A650 Bingley Road near the Saltaire roundabout, at 3.08pm and found the front of the van lodged in the metal barriers on the side of the road.
The bus windshield had been shattered by the collision. The passengers left the Transdev bus after the crash, and a police spokesman said: “There were no serious injuries, although an ambulance was called as a precaution.”
There were traffic delays with a small stretch of one lane blocked by the two vehicles. Removal vehicles were dealing with the van and bus shortly after 4pm and police are investigating the cause of the accident.
