Six Keighley groups are sharing £15,761 in the latest payout from the Community First fund.
Highfield Women’s Group has received money to run a swimming programme, while Keighley Healthy Living will spend its grant on a healthy weight programme and cooking classes. Highfield Community Association will run a health and well-being project for people aged over 50.
Another grant will enable a group to be set up at Central Hall to unite young women from East European and Asian backgrounds.
Keighley music studios Jam on Top has also been given funds to expand its community radio station, Jam Radio.
Community First is a government fund for deprived areas, administered by local people, and is worth £101,730 over four years in the Keighley Central ward. See keighleycentral.wordpress.
