An application to turn a former Mexican restaurant into four shops is set to be turned down.

The vacant premises on Manningham Lane, Bradford, was last occupied by Cocina’s.

Applicant Amjid Hussain wants to convert the building into four shop units, each with their own entrance. But a meeting of the Area Planning Panel this Thursday will hear a recommendation that the application be refused.

The reasons given are that the “proposal fails to achieve the highest possible standards in design” in relation to its prominent location on a gateway to Bradford.
