A former Bradford newsagent has pleaded guilty to pirating DVDs to sell at his shop.
Assim Bhatti, 37, of Fagley Terrace, Fagley, Bradford, was caught by the police with hundreds of DVDs and copying equipment at Fagley News, and the flats over it, in March last year.
He admitted possessing articles with a false trademark, possession of copying equipment and intending to sell items without a licence between January 1 and March 27.
Bradford Crown Court heard yesterday that Bhatti received a suspended jail sentence in September for allowing the production of £38,000 worth of cannabis at a flat over the shop. He was doing well on a community order and unpaid work requirement attached to the sentence.
Bhatti’s barrister, Nick Worsley, said he no longer ran the shop.
The case was adjourned until February 6.
