A doctor is organising her fifth annual dance night next month in aid of an international medical emergency relief charity.
Dr Emily Muirhead, of Ilkley, will stage Bongo 5 at Hollygarth Social Club, Leeds Road, Ilkley, on February 2, raising money for the charity Merlin.
Merlin is currently working in 16 countries around the world including Afghanistan, East African countries in the wake of last year’s food crisis, and the Democratic Republic of Congo, helping people fleeing the current conflict.
The previous Bongo events, featuring disco, reggae and rare grooves, gained a strong following of supporters, and have raised more than £5,500 for charity.
The night, starting at 8pm, will feature DJ Wayne Sealey and Folly Kool.
Entrance is £10. Contact Dr Muirhead on (07958) 703447 or e-mail emily.muirhead@gmail.com for more information. Visit justgiving.com/bongo5 for further details or to donate.
