One lane of the M62 was closed for 50 minutes after a generator fell off the back of a vehicle.
The accident happened at about 7.05pm tonight between the slip roads on the eastbound carriageway at junction 26 (Chain Bar).
A lane was closed until 7.55pm while the generator, which was four foot by two foot in size, was lifted back onto the vehicle.
The Highways Agency reported some minor delays as a result of the closure, but said traffic was flowing normally by 8pm. No other vehicles hit the generator, said a Highways Agency spokesman.
