A man who claimed he was only in a house to water the plants has been arrested after a cannabis farm was discovered.

Police were called to a report of a burglary in progress at a property in Queensbury on Tuesday night.

When officers arrived at the scene, a man jumped out of a window and ran off.

However, a second man was found inside the property, as was a quantity of cannabis.

The man – a 24-year-old from Windhill – was subsequently arrested despite insisting he was “only there to water the plants”.

He was taken to a police station for questioning.
