A Keighley scheme is celebrating its first 12 months of helping former addicts give something back to the community.
Work and Volunteer Enterprise (WaVE) provides placements with local organisations for people who have successfully fought alcohol or substance abuse.
The scheme, organised by Keighley agency Project Six, also provides work experience for those who want to support people with drugs or alcohol problems.
WaVE marked its first anniversary with a “graduation ceremony” last month celebrating the achievements of the first 19 volunteers.
Volunteer manager Donna Siberry said the volunteers represented a great cross-section of the community.
She said: “Some are from the community, some are in recovery themselves and some have been affected in the past by a loved ones’ drug or alcohol use.”
