Generous donations have kickstarted a promising New Year for the Bradford Metropolitan Food Bank.
The organisation, which distributes food to families and individuals in need around the district, has received £1,200 from the Kirkgate Centre in Bradford, and a large donation of food from Morrisons.
“Staff at the Kirkgate Centre wrapped Christmas presents in return for donations from shoppers, and some of the money came from that,” said food bank spokesman Lashman Singh. “We have also had donations from a food and money collection point at the shopping centre.
“And Morrisons has given us a sizeable donation of food. It’s all fantastic and a great start to the New Year.
“We want to say a big thank you to everyone who has made a donation.”
