A Bradford shooting victim has been released from hospital, as detectives last night quizzed six more people about the incident.

The 30-year-old man suffered a gunshot wound to the leg after shots were fired at a car in Thorn Street, Girlington, Bradford, on Sunday evening.

Police were alerted at 7.30pm by hospital staff after the injured man was admitted.

The victim was in a Ford car when it was targeted near to a church. The car was found abandoned outside Lawcroft House police station in Manningham. It had damage consistent with a firearms discharge.

Police initially arrested six men on suspicion of attempted murder. They have since been released on bail pending further inquiries.

Six more people were yesterday in custody, five men aged between 35 and 25 and a 29-year-old woman. Three men were being questioned on suspicion of attempted murder. The other suspects were being held in connection with assisting an offender.

Police yesterday confirmed the victim had been released from the hospital where he had been treated.

Detectives are still trying to establish the motive for the shooting.
