Singer-songwriter Emily Sargant has landed a concert in the US after performing for just 18 months.
The 17-year-old college student played her acoustic music as part of an international line-up of acts.
Emily performed while attending the prestigious South by South West music conference in Texas.
Emily, of Haworth, who is studying popular music, can next be seen at the Groovy Happening of 2013 on Saturday back in Haworth.
She is no stranger to the Happening, in fact most of her performances have been in the Haworth area.
Like many girls she originally dreamed of being a pop star, then decided she did not want to follow the X Factor route.
She said: “I wanted to make it on my own. The type of stuff I tried to write was more acoustic.”
Emily’s first gig was in September 2010, at the age of 14 and last year she also began playing with two older musicians as the Emily Sargant Trio.
The Groovy Happening is at the Parkside Social Club, Butt Lane, Haworth, from 7.30pm. Admission is £3.
