Bradford-based Yorkshire Water is celebrating a prestigious Carbon Trust Standard award for its efforts to reduce its carbon footprint.

The independently-assessed quality award, given by the Carbon Trust, certifies organisations have reduced their carbon emissions and demonstrated a strong commitment to making further reductions year-on-year.

Ben Roche, Yorkshire Water’s manager of energy and carbon, said: “The rigorous process we undertook to achieve the Carbon Trust Standard shows our commitment to looking after our environment.

“We have reduced our carbon in absolute terms each year for the last three years and will have to be reassessed in two years.”
