A man was so worried about his pregnant wife who was feeling ill on their way home that he took over driving her car when not insured, Skipton magistrates heard.
Pradeep Bhardwaj, of Liverpool, pleaded guilty to driving without insurance in Broughton Road, Skipton, on October 27.
He received six points on his licence and was fined £400 and ordered to pay £45 court costs.
The bench was told the car was stopped because a rear offside light was out.
Bhardwaj told magistrates: “My wife was four months pregnant and was terribly sick so I felt I should drive.”
