Half of people in Yorkshire have no idea how bad everyday items of food and drink can be for their health.
A new advertising campaign exposing the 'hidden nasties' in foods begins today, and the Government hopes it will shock people into eating healthier in 2013.
The campaign follows a nationwide survey on people’s knowledge of what is really in their food.
The results show that of the people surveyed in Yorkshire and Humber, 50 per cent did not know there are 11 lumps of sugar in a can of cola and 50 per cent are not aware that a large takeaway pepperoni pizza has two times the recommended maximum daily intake of saturated fat.
According to the NHS, one in two adults in Bradford is overweight.
