An award-winning outdoor education centre has an exciting year ahead with the launch of three major projects.

The Nell Bank Centre, in Denton Road, Ilkley, has additions planned to expand its facilities offered to children of all ages across the district.

They will accessible to all young people with physical disabilities, or who are sensory impaired or deaf.

The first project, a Tree House Adventure Playground, is already in the first stages of being built.

The money for the playground was raised by former Bradford Lord Mayor Councillor Peter Hill as part of his appeal.

It is hoped the official opening of the facility will take place during the Nell Bank Family Friday on Saturday, May 11.

The second project, a Round House, is hoped to be built in time for the summer after planning has been approved. Ilkley Round Table has donated £10,000 towards it.

The Round House will bring history to life for the young people visiting the centre as it provides archaeological facilities.

The third project, which may be built next year, is to create new dormitories to meet a growing demand.
