Generous staff, customers and board members at Incommunities raised nearly £15,000 for charity in 2012.
People connected to the Bradford-based social housing provider did rowing and cycling challenges, held a raffle, cake sale and coffee morning, and donated food and toys in time for Christmas.
Geraldine Howley, group chief executive, said: “I am extremely proud of the contribution of everyone connected with Incommunities in giving – big and small – to different charitable causes.
“This support is changing lives and reflects the contribution of so many people connected with the organisation – from staff to residents and board members – to help people in need.”
The biggest single sum raised was £5,409, in support of one of the group’s directors, Peter Newbould, who rode 978 miles from Land’s End to John O’Groats for Marie Curie Cancer Care.
As well as fundraising, staff and customers have donated items for needy individuals and groups. Those benefiting included Bradford Foodbank, which took delivery of 30 boxes of food items collected from Incommunities’ offices. The Foodbank also received £1,300 as the organisation’s chosen festive charity.
Also, more than 100 toys were donated to bring some festive cheer to families staying in supported accommodation at Octavia Court, while bags of toiletries were delivered to the Bradford Deaf Community Association.
