A flood alert remained in place on the River Aire’s upper catchment between Gargrave and Stockbridge, in Keighley, last night.
River levels on the section, which includes Eshton Beck, Eller Beck and Silsden Beck, remained high, according to the Environment Agency.
A spokesman said: “The river levels on the Aire through Kildwick remain high but have started to drop.” The River Wharfe overflowed its banks at East Holmes Field, Ilkley, (pictured) on New Year’s Eve and a flood alert is still in place on the lower River Wharfe.
