A rape victim, whose allegations led to the jailing of a sex beast who attacked women and men over three decades, is hoping for New Year success with songs she has written to help others.

The 43-year-old Bradford mother wants to turn two songs she has written, reflecting her experiences, into records to raise money for rape victim charities and encourage donations to West Yorkshire Police’s Operation Topaz team, which investigates sex crimes.

She is looking for a record producer to turn Voices and Sail Away into professional songs for the public to buy.

And she has had ‘Best of British’ T-shirts – in tribute to the police who investigated her case – made to highlight her campaign.

The woman is believed to have been attacked, in the late 1990s, by sexual predator Brian Jackson. She reported the incident to police in October 2010, sparking a police investigation which led to the bulge-eyed, self-styled preacher being jailed for a minimum of almost 13 years and warned by a judge that he could die in prison.

Although there was insufficient evidence to proceed with her case, police are not looking for anybody else.

Jackson, 50, of Hall Lane, Windhill, Shipley, was convicted last January of raping three other women, causing one of them grievous bodily harm, causing actual bodily harm to a fourth woman, indecently assaulting a fifth, and sexually assaulting and attempting to rape a man.

The woman said: “The T-shirts celebrate someone listening to me and doing something about it, and in that sense they will draw attention to the songs.”

A West Yorkshire Police spokesman said: “We are fully supportive of the victim’s work and encourage anyone who has been the victim of sexual or domestic violence to have faith in the police and the Criminal Justice System’s determination to put serious offenders like Jackson behind bars.”
