Adventure lovers are to be given the chance to forge a career from their passion.
Bradford College is to launch a one-year adrenaline-filled course dedicated to breeding the outdoor leaders of the future.
From September next year, the institution will offer students aged 16 and above the chance to satisfy the call of the wild as well as study for a BTEC First Diploma in outdoor education.
Course leader, Anne Freund, said the college was now looking to recruit 14 adventurous, committed people with potential leadership skills.
Mrs Freund said: "The course will be aimed at people who want to work in the outdoor industry.
"It is certainly an area that is growing in popularity with more and more people interested in healthy living and the rise in the adventure holiday sector."
Participants will spend four days a week in classrooms before working with outdoor leaders across the district for the fifth.
Students will be given the chance to take part in a range of heart-pumping outdoor activities including caving, climbing, canoeing, sailing and orienteering.
The course will also include specialist units in health and safety, the sports industry and expedition experiences. Mrs Freund added: "This is an exhilarating course aimed at those who like adventure.
"Students will take part in activities such as rock climbing in Ilkley or sailing at Doe Park in Bradford as well as residential trips to places like the Lake District and the Yorkshire Dales.
"However, while students will be having fun experiences they will also be gaining recognised qualifications through classroom-based study and also acquiring valuable wider life skills such as team work that will help them become well-rounded individuals with prosperous futures."
Aspiring students must have one GCSE at grade C or above or three at grade D.
"Participants must also have a certain level of physical fitness, enthusiasm and a willingness to take part in challenging activities," added Mrs Freund.
