MURPHY Maureen Please pray for the repose of the soul of Maureen, aged 95 years young, of Wibsey, who died on 24th June 2023, suddenly at her home. Beloved sister of the late Barry, dear sister-in-law of Brenda, aunt of Adele and Marie, great-aunt of Jacinta, very dear cousin and friend to many. May she rest in peace. Requiem Mass at St Winefrides Church, St Paul's Avenue, Wibsey on Monday 17th July at 11.30am followed by cremation at Nab Wood. Will friends please accept this intimation and meet at the church. No flowers please by request but donations in lieu may be made to the Bradford Soup Run, a box will be provided in church for this purpose. All further enquiries to David C. Miss Murphy was the Headteacher at the primary school where my Mum worked as school secretary. I have such fond memories of her - always beautifully dressed in towering high heels. She once gave me a KitKat that turned out to be pure chocolate with no wafer in it - when I told her she was fed up she had given it away as she loved chocolate!
Miss Murphy was an intelligent, confident, caring and lovely lady and sometimes scary - to a 7 year old!
Sending my sincere condolences to her family and friends. A life well lived by a truly special lady who helped shape the future of many of her pupils.
