McCARTHY John Robert It is with great sadness that we announce the sudden death on 16th August 2022 of John Robert McCarthy (known as Robert) aged 71 years. Dearly loved husband of Sheila, much loved father of James, Sharon and John, brother of Peter and loving granddad. He will be deeply missed. The funeral will take place at Oakworth Crematorium on Tuesday 13th September at 11.30am. No flowers please, if desired donations may be made to the British Heart Foundation.

The loveliest man I ever met. My parents thought he was fantastic. Very caring and protective. He once picked a bunch of wildflowers and left them at my door (so lovely). Never will I forget him dancing on his own (the dance floor cleared as everyone wanted to watch him!). I was so proud. What a man. Everything you would want in a man. RIP, Mac. love you forever.
