SIR - It gives cause for much concern that Bradford Council considers the expenditure of nearly 200k as "representing good value", in relation to its dealings with Bradford Live, ( T&A, October 23).

As matters stand the NEC Group has reneged on its commitments to hosting events at the newly renovated former Odeon building, the terms of which remain unknown. At the very least the NEC Group should have been required to meet all legal expenses and associated costs in finding a new event's organiser as part of not honouring its contract.

Further penalties should be imposed until the building is able to generate income by hosting events.

It certainly appears that the whole matter has been grossly mis-managed by the Council as had other schemes in the past such as the Broadway development and the Rawson Market.
