A SERIES of Bradford district locations used for filming for an upcoming ITV drama will be screened across the world.
Malpractice, which was filmed last year at City Hall and Shipley Town Hall, the former Shipley tax office, plus homes in Eccleshill and Rawdon, will be broadcast on ITV1 and ITVX starting on a date to be confirmed later in the spring.
Niamh Algar plays lead character Dr Lucinda Edwards in the five-part drama series.
The show will now also be screened in the USA and Canada on The Roku Channel as one of its prestige Roku Original dramas series this year.
Lydia Antonini, head of creative affairs at Roku, said: “We are thrilled to welcome the brilliantly written and flawlessly produced Malpractice to the Roku Originals slate.”
The drama will also be shown in China, Australia and New Zealand after TV companies in those respective countries bought the rights.
The story follows Dr Edwards, a doctor working on a shift that ends in the death of opioid overdose victim Edith Owusu.
The plot sees Edith’s grieving father Sir Anthony Owusu demand an inquiry into Lucinda’s actions on the night of her death.
The drama’s cast also includes James Purefoy, who has previously starred in A Discovery of Witches. He plays medical supervisor, Dr Leo Harris.
