A local initiative aimed at firms with high growth potential is supporting a specialist trading business seeking to quadruple its turnover in the next few years.
Keighley -based Fenetic Trading Ltd, an online personal mobility and health products supplier, wants to achieve a £3 million turnover in three years and create more jobs locally.
The business was launched by directors Tom Appelbee and Graeme Firth after they were successful in using auction site Ebay to sell health and mobility products before formally launching their business.
They launched the Feneticwellbeing.com website and continued growth, enabled them to raise annual turnover to £750,000.
Tom and Graeme have turned to Rising Stars, Bradford Council’s high-growth enterprise programme, to help with the move to larger premises after a rapid growth in sales which required a move to new premises four-times larger than the previous base.
They have worked closely with Rising Stars to develop strategic plans to reflect the business’ continued success. The partners are looking towards international growth after getting advice on global export opportunities and introduced Fenetic to European and Middle Eastern markets.
Graeme said: “Without Rising Stars, our accomplishments would not have been achievable. The team’s expertise in areas we had very little knowledge of, such as international growth, has been a key factor in our recent success and has ensured we have the tools in place to cope with our fast rate of growth.”
Rising Stars business services manager Carolyn Coleman said: “Fenetic has grown a great deal in such a short amount of time which is not only impressive but promising for the future of the business and its impact on our district’s economy. Tom and Graeme are experts in their field who are channelling their knowledge and its impact on our district’s economy to maximum effect with our ongoing business support.
“Tom and Graeme recognised a growth in the online market and created an accessible and easy-to-use service; a key selling point for Fenetic’s target audience.”
Coun Susan Hinchcliffe, Bradford Council’s executive member for employment and skills, said: “Tom and Graeme have achieved a huge amount in a relatively small period of time and have shown great ambition.
“Exporting overseas can be a daunting prospect for some businesses but it is brilliant to see Fenetic using the advice provided by Rising Stars to make it a success.”
Rising Stars is a public=-private sector partnership between Bradford Council and Bradford Chamber of Commerce It aims to support the growth of around 750 go-ahead new and small firms across the Bradford district.
