Expanding Shipley-based bakers and patissiers, Just Desserts, has invested a five-figure sum in new, state-of-the-art equipment to support its growth plans.
The company, which supplies handmade desserts and pastries to the hospitality and food service sector, which is currently trading at 25 per cent ahead of its 2010 performance, has doubled its capacity with a new energy-efficient freezer, enabling it to service a bigger customer base.
Just Desserts commissioned Leeds-based refrigeration contractor, Kirwin Refrigeration to design a bespoke commercial freezer to upgrade and modernise its existing equipment. A family run business, Kirwin Refrigeration provides refrigeration solutions to the private and public sector, including Bradford hospitals.
James O’Dwyer, Just Desserts managing director, said: “We are enjoying an encouraging period of growth in spite of the current economic climate, and in order to meet customer demand, we needed to invest in new equipment to enable us to respond quicker to increased customer needs and to carry greater stock levels of key lines.
“The freezer has improved thermal efficiency and allows us to reduce our carbon footprint and to operate more economically and cost-effectively.”
