Small and medium sized firms in Bradford have been warned to be on the alert for unscrupulous companies running a scare campaign demanding computer licensing details and threatening large fines for companies that do not respond.
IT consultancy firm ITwiser, a division of Cleckheaton and Keighley accountancy firm Clough & Company, has warned firms not to divulge any details of the computer licences they subscribe to.
The alert has been reinforced by Bradford Chamber of Commerce officials which keeps a watchful eye on paper-based and electronic communications and have highlighted a range of potentially damaging business scams in recent years.
