Bradford-based supermarket group Morrisons is supporting 12 specialist cattle sales around the country to provide a boost to some of Britain’s best known traditional and native breeds.

The move is part of a new incentive scheme by the retailer to encourage UK farmers who rear traditional and native cattle breeds.

Morrisons, which has more people in its 430-plus stores preparing fresh food than any other retailer, including 1,500 butchers, is backing a series of cattle sales across the UK, including a fixture running alongside a major autumn beef breeding event at Skipton Auction Mart next month.
