A financial institution has emphasised its commitment to Bradford’s high street by refurbishing its city centre branch and launching an account exclusively for local savers.
Leeds Building Society, which has had a branch in Bradford for more than 30 years, has made a ‘significant’ investment in its branch in Bank Street.
Sales and marketing director Kim Rebecchi said: “We know that a significant number of city centre shops currently stand empty.
“Bradford is important to the Society and the newly-refurbished branch is part of our national network, which is key to our distribution strategy.
“That is why we have made this significant investment. The changes create an improved customer environment, with more confidential interview areas to help customers maximise the returns on their savings or choose the right mortgage to suit their needs.
“Furthermore, we have introduced a number of ‘green initiatives’, including LED lighting and fully-recyclable materials, to reduce the carbon footprint at the branch.”
The Bradford Instant Access pass book savings account, offers penalty-free access to funds and pays a rate of 2.75 per cent.
To celebrate the re-launch of the branch, Kim Rebecchi is attending a reception at the branch tonight hosted by manager Denise Watson.
