Customers at a Skipton bakery are being urged to go ‘doughnuts’ in aid of charity.
Baker and chocolatier Robert Walker, who runs Walkers Bakery, has pledged to donate 10p to charity for every doughnut sold in his four shops during National Doughnut Week, from May 7 to 14.
The firm will serve eight types of doughnut in its branches in Water Street and Newmarket Street, Skipton, Main Street, Grassington and The Wharf, Leeds.
The stable of goodies includes a special chocolate fudge version featuring Mr Walker’s own hand-made chocolate.
The money raised will go to The Children’s Trust, which provides specialist care, treatment, education and rehabilitation for children with profound disabilities and complex health needs.
Since the first National Doughnut Week in 1992, more than £650,000 has been raised for charities by bakeries across the UK.
